One of the two people who died on the big ship of the Mexican Navy Cuauhtémoc, who crashed in the Brooklyn bridge new York Saturday evening, was identified as a younger woman from the Mexican navy of Veracruz, according to the governor of the State.
The governor of Veracruz Rocío Nahle García identified the cadet as America Yamilez Sánchez de Xalapa in a Post X on Sunday.
“I deeply regret the death of the cadet of Veracruz America Yamilez Sánchez,” wrote the governor in a translated article. “My love, my support and my solidarity go to his family. My gratitude to @semar_mx and my wishes for a quick recovery for the wounded. Veracruz is with you.”
Sánchez died when the ship described as a training ship from the Academy, run on the Brooklyn bridge around 8:20 p.m.

The scene was captured on video by several eyewitnesses, showing the ship – which piloted a large Mexican flag – quickly moving back to the bridge near Brooklyn side of the East River.
While passers -by continued to look at, the The three masts of the ship hit the duration of the bridge and broken, one by one, while the large ship continued to push in the bridge.
The videos captured a strong circulation over time at the time of the collision, although no one on the bridge was reported injured.

The sailors could be seen in the air in the rigging of damaged masts, but remarkably, noted that no one fell into the water.
Cuauhtémoc – about 297 feet long and 40 feet wide, according to the Mexican navy – sailed for the first time in 1982. The main mast of the ship has a height of 160 feet, according to the Mexican government. Each year, the Cuauhtémoc offers itself at the end of the courses at the Naval Military School to finish the training of the cadets. This year, he left the Mexican port of Acapulco on the Pacific coast on April 6, according to the Mexican navy.
He arrived in New York on May 13, when visitors were welcome for several days, said the Mexican consulate. The ship was to visit 22 ports in 15 nations over 254 days, including 170 at sea.

We do not know what caused the shipment of the ship, and investigations are carried out by several agencies, including the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB).
The Brooklyn bridge, which opened in 1883, has a main range of almost 1,600 feet supported by two masonry towers. More than 100,000 vehicles and around 32,000 pedestrians cross each day, according to the city’s transport service. Its bridge is a major tourist attraction.
Traffic was interrupted after the collision but was authorized to resume after an inspection, city officials said.

As midnight approach, the broken ship was slowly moved to the East river, passing under the Manhattan bridge, helped by a series of tugboats, before oscarling in a pier.
