2020 Olympics Cuban Andy Cruz hopes Keyshawn succeeds in his title challenge against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14. Cruz says he wants to take the WBO belt from Keyshawn (12-0, 8 KOs) if he wins it. Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn will air on ESPN and ESPN+. The event begins at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 a.m. PT.
Andy refers to Davis as “my son” due to his many victories over him. However, he still wants him to beat Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) next month. He says he will watch the fight.
A story of domination
This would be Cruz’s fifth victory against Keyshawn. His record is perfect 4-0, and he has repeatedly called Top Rank-promoted Davis since he turned professional, but to no avail. Keyshawn doesn’t want to lose again, so he makes excuses.
Even if Davis beats Berinchyk, he will not defend the WBO title against Cruz. He’s the last person he would consider fighting because he knows what will happen if they fight.
It would be like Keyshawn offering the WBO belt. He’s already said what he hopes to do if he gets his hands on the belt. Davis says he wants to use her to try to lure WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis into a unification fight. It’s a pipe dream that has no chance of coming true because Tank is focused on fighting popular fighters.
Keyshawn’s excuses for not fighting Andy Cruz
- “He’s not ready yet.” He doesn’t have a fan base. His whole fan base is built around me.
- “This man is not trying to fight me. I’m going to knock him out. He’s just not ready.
- “We have already sent them a contract. I already spoke live with Eddie Hearn and told him to organize the fight. I don’t know what more you want me to do [to make the Andy Cruz fight].
I don’t know how Keyshawn could say with a straight face that Cruz isn’t “ready” to fight him, when he beat him four times in the amateurs and was better than him in the pros. Davis looked mediocre in his fights against Nahir Albright and Miguel Madueno. These are the only two semi-good fighters Keyshawn has fought since he turned professional. The others were scrubs.
” My son “
“I think my son has improved a lot. I hope he wins the belt to see if I can take it from him for the 5th time,” Andy Cruz told YSM Sports Mediain reaction to Keyshawn David’s challenge against WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14.
“Of course I will watch this fight. What kind of father won’t babysit his son? Cruz said when asked if he would watch the Keyshawn vs. Berinchyk fight.
