The Epic HBO Fantasy “House of the Dragon” series has gone out of fans in many ways, giving those who have been burned by “Game of Thrones” another chance to love and cry the incredible characters in the world of the world Creator of the George RR Martin’s Worlds franchise. Taking up about 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones”, “House of the Dragon” contains all the great aspects of its television predecessor, just done much better, and that includes all kinds of complex family dramas. Because it is a fantastic world without danger on our own Middle Ages, people tend to have a lot of children, and Rhaenyra is no exception. She has six children in the source book “Fire & Blood” and “House of the Dragon”, and although some of them do not survive adulthood, those who end up having an influence on the whole story of westerosi.
Rhaenyra had three sons with Ser Harwin Strong – Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey
Rhaenyra, as a daughter of Viserys I with his first wife, Aemma Arryn, was forced to marry her cousin in the second secondary Laenor Velaryon (John Macmillan). However, she had a secret Case with Ser Harwin Strong (Ryan Corr), and it is very likely that her three children from the moment she was married to Laenor really. Jace is a serious soul and with good heart that really believes in the claim of his mother to the throne (which would place him second online). He rides the Dragon Vermax and does his best to serve as a member of the little advice and sent from his mother, including the petition for an alliance with House Frey. His younger brother Luke has a little more Targaryen fire in him, and during an unpleasant fight like children with his uncle-cousins Aegon II and Aemond Targaryen, he decided Aemond with a knife and did it Losing your eye, which would have devastating consequences below. Lucerys Visérion was murdered by his cousin
While the battle of the “House of the Dragon” Kids ending with Luke giving Aemond a classic nasty look with a eye is certainly a little humorous and well deserved, he also inspired a deep hatred to Prince Aemond, which is not be insignificant with. Played by Leo Ashton as a child and Ewan Mitchell as a young adult, Aemond is impressive and manipulative, and generally better to play the Game of Thrones than his older brother Aegon. After demanding that Luke cut one of his own eyes to do things right, Aemond and Luke show up in an argument. Luke fled on his Dragon Arrax, and Aemond pursues him in a rage.
Riding on his absolute giant of a dragon, Vhagar, Aemond catches his young nephew and things become ugly. The two dragons disobey their riders, leading to Arrax attacking Vhagar in order to protect Luc and Vhagar repressing themselves on Dragon and Rider, killing them both. Aemond was angry but probably did not want to kill Luke, knowing how intense the fallout would be for such an act, and that makes the incident all the more tragic and Aemond a character more complex than his book version, who has been murdered with murdered flat luke intentionally.
Daemon Targaryen generated the two younger sons of Rhaenyra – Aegon and Viserys
In addition to his sons of Ser Harwin Strong, Rhaenyra also had two younger sons by his demon by Uncle-Mari Targaryen (Matt Smith). The two have a deeply complicated relationship which is one of the best in the franchise, but so far on the series, their offspring are only young children. Rhaenyra and Daemon were able to present the boys to their grandfather / uncle King Viseys I before dying, appointing them Aegon and Viscounts, in honor of previous Targaryens. Curiously, despite the fact that, as the youngest son of Rhaenyra, he would be far from the throne in terms of line, Viereys joins that his namesake has a name “fit for a king” and that turns out to be accidentally prophetic.
In season 2, Rhaenyra sent Joffrey, Aegon and Viserys to Eyrie for Security, and they then climbed a ship for Essos, where they would be the hope of the war between the green and the black. The children actors of young people and Aegon have been modified several times and sometimes it is difficult to find confirmed information, although Egon was played by twin actors Jake and Cory heard in season 1.
Rhaenyra had a stillborn daughter named Visenya
On “House of the Dragon”, the delivery bed is its own battlefield, and it leads to some of the most tragic moments of the show. Although Rhaenyra does not die in childbirth like the first woman of her mother or her demon, Laena, she suffered a terrible end to her last pregnancy. After learning the news that Aegon II took the throne and was crowned king, she is so in distress that she made a miscarriage. His only daughter, Visenya, was stillborn with congenital malformations which made him appear like a dragon, including scales and a truncated tail, according to the book “The World of Ice & Fire”. In the HBO series, it was not shown in detail, but the special effects company that created the silicone doll used for the scene shared images, and poor Vishya had a distorted head, no nose and a crown of scales.
The loss of Viscanya is Rhaenyra’s final straw, pushing her to hate Aliment and her children to really want them to pay for everything they have done. It is the last catalyst for the war itself, which will have devastating consequences for all the children of Rhaenyra.
What happens to Rhaenyra’s children in books?
At the end of season 2, Jace, Joffrey, Aegon and Views are all safe and especially healthy, but we already know how things will prove (more or less) because of the two “Ice and Fire” And “Fire & Blood”, and it’s not great. The children of Velaryon and Targaryen are all damn condemned in one way or another. Jace and his dragon would both be killed by the team’s green forces during the Battle of the surroundings, while Joffrey died in a dragon accident while trying to prove his mother.
Unlike their half-brothers in Velaryon, the demon and Rhaenyra sons would not only live to see adulthood but also sit on the iron throne. After the death of his mother and his rival, Aegon II, Aegon III was crowned Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, the King of Andals and the Rhoynar and the first men. Unfortunately, he was also deeply disturbed by all the death and the effusion of blood he witnessed, including the death of his mother on Dragonback, and he became known as “Aegon The Broken” and ” Aegon The Dragonbane “, when he hated dragons fiercely.
