A consortium led by David Beckham and Gary Neville who includes a number of world business people bought Salford City, the club of League two announced.
The former teammates of Manchester United and England Beckham and Neville were part of the previous home ownership group alongside colleagues members of the “92 class” like Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt who took over in 2014.
Their financial support obtained four promotions in five seasons while Salford climbed the non-Ligue system and in the football league in 2019.
They have stayed in League two since then, however, prompted Beckham and Neville to act.

A commitment to “invest considerably”
A press release from the Club SEC Lect: “Salford City Football Club (SCFC) announced today that the club had been acquired by a new property group led by David Beckham and Gary Neville, with the American businessman Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies who will both serve new condominiums of the club’s board of directors.
“The acquisition includes a commitment from new shareholders to invest considerably in the club, the team and its facilities.
“The acquisition was uniquely structured, through a member club made up of nine shareholders, including Dream Sports Group (Leader of Indian sports technology), Colin Ryan (founder, Clipper Street Capital), Frank Ryan (World Copres, World Co-PDG and President of the Americas, Dla Piper), Nickhouse (Foundaterman Executive Brands Group) and Shravin Mittal (Found Wif-President).
“These shareholders have a vast work experience with many companies and brands around the world.
The declaration confirms that Butt, Giggs, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville will continue to contribute to roles in “Technical, Football, Commercial, Recruitment and the SCFC Foundation”.
Beckham hoping to give back to Salford
Beckham, who is also the president and co -owner of MLS Side Inter Miami, said: “I grew up in Salford. I have such good memories of my time to live there and the place and its people played such an important role in my first life in football.
“Salford City is at the heart of her community, she has a rich story and I am delighted to be part of the next chapter.”
