Fox Business Charles Payne is reflecting on the importance of Juneteenth and the number of freedoms and rights currently “under attack” on “earning money”.
President Donald Trump Has deplored that there was too many “vacation without work” on Thursday, while the Americans across the country observed Juneteh.
“Too much vacation without work in America,” said Trump Truth Social Post. “It costs our country billions of dollars to keep all these companies closed.”
The president continued by saying that the Americans “do not want it either!”
“Soon, we will end up spending a vacation every working day of the year,” he concluded. “This must change if we are going to make America again!”

Although Trump did not explicitly mention Juneteenth, the post was interpreted as a criticism of the status of federal festival of the day. He became a federal holiday under former president Joe Biden in 2021.
Juneteenth commemorates the end of all slavery in the United States. He was celebrated for the first time on June 19, 1866 to mark the abolition of slavery in Texas.
Trump had previously recognized Juneteenth in his first presidential administration. In 2019, he declared that Juneteenth “served as an opportunity to celebrate the fundamental truth that everyone is created equal and that freedom is correct by our Creator”.
“In our country, the contributions of African-Americans continue to enrich all the facets of American life”, 2019 declaration read. “This Juneteenth, while we always produce the rights given by God of all Americans, we pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of African Americans.”

But Thursday, the White House was silent about the holidays. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said she was not ” [Trump’s] Signature on a proclamation today, “after he was asked if Trump would commemorate the holidays.
“I know it’s a federal holiday,” Leavitt continued. “I want to thank you all for having come for working. We are certainly there, we are working 24/7 at the moment.”
Although the holidays have been criticized for being politicized in the past, the supporters of the junction, calling him a day of patriotic celebration and lovers of freedom.

In an editorial of Fox News, pastor Deforest Soari wrote that Juneteenth “should be considered Extension of July 4. “”
“Where the day of independence marks the proclamation of our national commitment to life, freedom and the continuation of happiness,” Juneteenth marks emancipation which made this founding promise more real than any other act of American history “, wrote Soaries.
