The Iran’s underground enrichment site in Fordow was struck on Monday while Iran pulled a salvo of missiles and drones in Israel and warned the United States that its soldiers now have a “free hand” to attack American targets following massive strikes from the Trump administration on Iranian nuclear sites.

The installation of Fordow was one of those who were affected during the initial attack this weekend, and it was struck on Monday, Iranian state television reported. There was no immediate word on damage.

Rafael Grossi, the head of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on Monday that “given the explosive payload used”, the UN nuclear guard dog expected “very significant damage” in the initial strikes.

On Sunday, with the strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, the United States inserted itself into the War of Israel, which raised fears of a broader regional conflict. Iran said that the United States had crossed “a very large red line” with its risky gambit to hit the three sites with missiles and bunker bunker bombs of 30,000 pounds.

In Iran, witnesses reported that Israeli air strikes have struck areas around the Iranian capital, Tehran, around noon.

A strike struck the door of the notorious prison of Evin of Iran in Tehran, Iranian state television reported. The report shared what seemed to be black and white surveillance images of the strike.

The Israeli Defense Ministry confirmed that it had achieved objectives, in particular the notorious of Evin prison in the Iranian capital and the seat of security of the paramilitary guards of the Revolution.

The prison is known to have double nationals and Westerners often used by Iran as negotiation schools in negotiations with the West.

Evin also has specialized units for political prisoners and those who have Western ties, led by the revolutionary paramilitary guard, which only responds to the supreme chief of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The establishment is the target of American sanctions and the European Union.

Carney says he spoke to Trump de la Déscalade

Israel said its defense systems operated to intercept the last Iranian threat, which apparently targeted the north and central areas of the country, and said people to go to shelters.

Iran has described the attack as a new wave of its True Prée Promise 3 operation, saying that it was aimed at Israeli cities in Haifa and Tel Aviv, according to Iranian state television.

Look at the possible options of Iran:

How Iran could retaliate against us strikes

After the United States struck against Iran’s nuclear sites, David Common of CBC breaks down the way Iran could fight back despite the fact of not having the same conventional military force as the United States

Explosions were also heard in Jerusalem. There was no immediate damage.

Earlier Monday, Iranian general Abdolrahim Mousavi, the chief of the joint staff of the armed forces, warned Washington that his strikes had given the Iranian forces a “free hand” to act against American interests and his army “.

Mousavi described the American attack as violating Iran’s sovereignty and being invading the country, the
reported the IRNA news agency managed by the State.

In the wake of American attacks against Iran, calls came from around the world for de -escalation and the return to diplomacy to try to resolve the conflict.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said he spoke to US President Donald Trump overnight.

“We focused on the deficiency of conflict in the Middle East, our common commitment to a strong NATO at the top of this week and the progress of the trade negotiations in progress between our countries,” said Carney in a social media position.

The two -day NATO summit in The Hague of its 32 members involves informal dinner on Tuesday and a working session on Wednesday morning.

The EU focused on diplomacy

The best diplomat in the European Union said that the block had remained “very focused on the diplomatic solution”.

“The concerns of growing reprisals and war are enormous,” said Kaja Kallas at the start of a meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels where Iran jumped at the top of the agenda.

“Especially the closure of the Hormuz Strait by Iran is something that would be extremely dangerous and not good for anyone,” said Kallas, referring to a crucial maritime route for oil transport.

Look | Anxious time, small communication with dear beings for some Canadians:

Iranian Canadians struggle with conflicts from afar

The American attack on Iranian nuclear sites added to uncertainty for many Iranian Canadians with family members stuck in the war zone. But some say that unwanted war could present an opportunity for change in the country.

After Sunday’s attacks, Iranian officials have repeated their long -standing threats to possibly close the key shipping route.

The Iranian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, met Moscow on Monday with the key ally of Russia. He thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin after the Kremlin condemned strikes on Iran, telling him that Russia was standing from “the right side of history”.

Putin told Araghchi that assault against Iran was baseless.

Fu Cong, the United Nations Ambassador for China, said the parties, in particular Israel, “should immediately stop fire to prevent the situation from degenerating and avoiding the overflow of war”.

Iran has been injured “but the credibility of the United States has also been damaged – both as a country and as a participant in any international negotiations,” added Fu.

Trump seems open to the change of diet

On Sunday, US officials, including vice-president JD Vance and the defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, stressed that the United States was not interested in the change of regime in Iran, but focused on the country’s nuclear capacities.

They seemed to be undervaluation by the president in subsequent publications on social networks by Trump.

“It is not politically correct to use the term, the” regime change “, but if the current Iranian regime is not able to make Iran large again, why would there not be a change of diet ???” Trump posted.

Look | Democrats, some Republicans question the constitutionality of the decision:

Trump’s attack on Iran is probably unconstitutional, but not unprecedented

The American Constitution requires the approval of the congress in order to declare war, but it is less clear if the air strikes of President Donald Trump against Iran count as the act of war. Eli Glasner from CBC breaks down legality and the previous Trump can count to defend the attacks.

While Trump said in the first American statement following strikes that they had “completely and completely erased” the three nuclear sites in Iran, half a day later, General Dan Caine of the Pentagon would only go so far as to say that “extremely serious damage and destruction” had occurred, with a complete evaluation of the damage that is not yet clear.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said late Sunday, the country was “very close to achieving our objectives on Sunday to eliminate Iran’s nuclear and missile threats.
