Chicago PDQualified detectives are the heart of the series – but the complex romance between Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek is what brings many fans back.
Viewers first saw sparks flying between Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek (Patrick FLUERGER) During season 1, episode 8, when Ruzek was in another relationship.
“These are complete horses – T,” joked Ruzek in the episode while crossing the daycare service with Burgess, who insisted that he “hurt”. Demonstrating the right way to navigate traffic, she said to him: “You have to put your hips in it … like that.”
Ruzek had a big smile on his face and replied: “Are you a little full, do you know?” Burgess smiled: “Am I?” Or am I great.
In season 2, colleagues nicknamed “Burzek” by fans were in a serious relationship and Ruzek asked the question. Burgess later canceled the commitment, but their connection remained constant before Ruzek’s last proposal in season 11.
