Heathrow airport in London – one of the busiest in the world – announced that it was closed on Friday due to a “significant power outage” of a nearby fire.
“Due to a fire in an electrical substation supplying the airport, Heathrow is experiencing a significant power failure,” he said in a Publish. “To maintain the safety of our passengers and colleagues, Heathrow will be closed until (11:59 p.m. local time, passengers are invited not to go to the airport and should contact their airline for more information. Flighttradar 24 said that at least 1,350 flights in and out of Heathrow had been affected, including several from the United States which was canceled.

The London firefighters brigade said 10 firefighters and approximately 70 firefighters attacked the fire in a substation near the airport in the city of Hayes in western London. His cause was not immediately known. It started late Thursday evening.
