Derre, closed doors in a seaside resort in Western Greece, members of the Olympic International Committee elected the largest president of the largest world sports organization on Thursday.
Kirsty Coventry will become the 10th president of the IOC after members around the world voted their secret vote and tabule the 41 -year -old man during the first ballot. She will replace outgoing president Thomas Bach, who has held the position since 2013, in June.
Coventry was seven times medalist in the Zimbabwe swimming pool during five Olympic games, more recently in competition in Rio in 2016. She was twice Olympic champion in the 200 meter rear.
In addition to being the first president, she will be the second youngest to lead the organization and the first in Africa.
