The champion Ibo Super Featherweight Anthony Cocace (23-1, 8 KB) and the former champion twice WBA 126 LB Leigh Wood (28-3, 17 Kos) were both weight today during the weighing on Friday for their headliner on Saturday May 10. Cocaces vs. Wood will be presented live on Dazn from Nottingham Arena to Nottingham.

Part of the problem is that breaking, 36 years old, missed a great opportunity to make himself known on the world scene when he left his IBF featherweight title after having captured him from Joe Cordina last year in May in a 8th round technical blow in Riyadh.
Rather than defending his IBF belt against his compulsory challenger Eduardo ‘Sucre’ NúñezCuracace left the strap to take a better paid fight against the josh Warrington faded last September. Breaking won but looked mediocre.
Even if Curacace had lost this fight against Nunez, he would have always been in demand for lucrative interior clashes against Warrington and Leigh Wood. It was an error on the part of the breaker because he returned to be the invisible fighter that he was once in front of his upheaval in Cordina.
The way he played against Warrington is perhaps a good thing that he did not succeed in the fight with “ Sugar ” Nunez (27-1, 27 ko), because he would probably have had his clock cleaned by the hard Mexican. However, he looked badly that Cuper has given up his IBF title instead of defending him against Nunez just to face the Warrington Over-the-Hill.
Title shooting implications
If Curacaces wins on Saturday, it should help him get closer to a shooting of the world title at 130 if it is a high goal. However, wood is considered washed by fans. So, breaker will not get too much bump of a victory over him. If Anthony wants a rapid world title, he must face the competitor Raymond Ford.
If breaking ford, he would have a quick chance in another title. Unfortunately, I don’t think he would even dare to take this fight. If breaker does not fight Nunez, he will surely not want to get tangled with Ford.
