Another huge clash at the bottom was on the cards while Ipswich welcomed Southampton.
And after the 7-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest of Brighton at the start of the game, the expectations were high as part of the elite of England.

Liverpool has extended its advance at the top of the first nine-point League with a 2-0 victory against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium, ending the undefeated race for 11 guest games.
Mohamed Salah was the star of the series, scoring the two goals to bring his count of the season to 21.

The result broke a frustrating series of six consecutive defeats and 13 games without victory.
