Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor says that the apologies of striker Sam Kerr are sufficient and that the club will not take disciplinary measures as a result of his trial.
Kerr, who is currently injured, was found guilty of having caused racially aggravated harassment after calling a “stupid and white” metropolitan police officer following an incident in Twickenham on January 30, 2023.
After the incident, the 31 -year -old apologized “of having expressed me on what was a traumatic evening”.
Bompastor said: “Sam made a statement, she apologized and I think it’s sufficient.
“Everyone can make mistakes and that’s what you learn and that’s how you are moving forward.

Kerr, who scored 95 goals in 122 appearances for Chelsea since 2019, has not played since his serious injury in a training camp in January 2024
Bompastor said it was “difficult to give a specific time” for Kerr’s return, but said that it “progressed well” in the training.
The trial heard that Kerr and his partner Kristie Mewis were taken to the Twickenham police station by a taxi driver who complained of having refused to pay the cleaning fees after Kerr was sick, and Mewis had broken The vehicle’s rear window.

“Sam is a really shy person and she just wants to live a life, she doesn’t like being in the light, brilliant. She is a really normal person and she likes to be silent.
Bompastor, who said that she had been in contact with Kerr during the trial, added: “We really know her, we are probably, with her family, those who know her the most.
