Hot on the heels of the Barbie phone from last year, HMD is back with more niche phones to call on those whose preferences and needs do not fall from the iphone / ordinary Android binary.
Some companies have swayed at the Mobile World Congress 2025 here in Barcelona without new phones to show – but not in HMD. He brought his game to the mobile show, with a load of fresh products.
HMD, short for human mobile devices, is best known for making Nokia phones. It may not be surprising that the company again publishes an update of the classic phone Nokia – the 3210 – but this time in the colors of Barcelona Football Club.
The company has a continuous partnership with the European football team Elite, announcing its first device on the theme of FC Barcelona last year. Fusion X1 allows parents to control children’s phones with a monthly Xplora subscription. This allows parents to control internet navigation and social media, in addition to a “school mode”. The subscription also provides continuous monitoring of the location at 20 -second intervals with safe areas, emergency SOS calls, low battery alerts and remote district access – your adolescent will be delighted.
Fusion X1 is a smartphone, but HMD is best known for making phones. The downloaded telephone market is down, but the company says it has challenged the overall trend, and last year not only acquired a market share, but has experienced two -digit growth. No wonder, then that it is back at the show this year with a handful of phones.
