Samsung Electronics has announced that it will share 80% of income and hold 20% for games on Samsung Galaxy Store.
The large South Korean technology company made this announcement before the game developers’ conference next week. This is great news, because Google and Apple charge up to 30% to developers who sell their goods in the application stores of large platforms. He was the subject of litigation, because Epic Games highlighted it as a monopolistic behavior – and Epic only invoices 12% to developers of the Epic Games store.
Samsung has also said that with its mobile cloud gaming platform, it is now easier than ever for mobile game developers and publishers of all sizes to develop their businesses with an effective acquisition of users, increase income potential and transparently create games with a series of software development kits (SDK) and tools.
In November 2024, Samsung officially marketed its game platform for mobile clouds in North America. As a favorite in cloud games, Samsung provides developers and publishers with new ways to effectively reach millions of Galaxy devices while allowing players to jump instantly in games without waiting or download.
Samsung has said that its platform is already exceptionally precious in the game community, as evidenced by a recent case study by Vizor, a leading developer behind the most profitable mobile title Klondike Adventures. Vizor launched Klondike Adventures on Mobile Cloud Gaming Beta from Samsung in July 2024, and in less than a year, was a significant success and growth in its user acquisition campaigns by winning millions of new players.
In addition, with the Samsung platform, the return to advertising expenses of 60 days of Vizor is 25% higher than its
Roas “AS SHIP AS HUTEAL” gives comparable campaigns during the same period.
“Vizor is constantly looking for new channels to attract players to his flagship game Klondike Adventures,” said Helen Kostina, director of Vizor marketing, in a statement. “The results we have obtained with the Samsung mobile cloud game platform exceeded our expectations. We have already seen a notable commercial impact, proving the potential of cloud technology. In the future, Samsung will remain an important part of our strategy to reach a wider audience. »»
“Our Cloud game platform changes the mobile landscape for publishers and players,” said Jong Woo, responsible for the game services in Samsung, in a press release. “By converting an advertisement, click directly in the first gameplay and eliminating the need to drive players into an application shop, we considerably increase the high -end conversion rates for the publisher’s user acquisition campaigns and the higher return of their advertising investment.”
Woo added: “This increased efficiency disturbs how publishers have commercially set their games so far and widen the players’ base for games in the Samsung galaxy ecosystem. For players on our Galaxy devices, eliminating the ties and the burden of having to wait a game to download and install before trying it, we bring a new type of discovery and game experience that is easy, instant and fun. »»
The Samsung mobile cloud game game platform also provides a new cloud-based attribution solution
With the main suppliers of mobile measurement partners (MMP).
Traditionally, the allocation of the user acquisition campaign largely depends on the applications that had to be installed and opened directly to the device of a user. This is also how game publishers have awarded new application installations to their advertising campaign – which makes it possible to calculate the return on investment of their advertising expenses according to the collective monetization of acquired users.
With cloud games, players are able to instantly jump into the gameplay without having to install an application, which breaks this traditional attribution protocol. To solve this point of pain, Samsung is proud to have worked directly with Appsflyer, a leading MMP, to create a first solution of its kind which allows customers to allocate an ad click and a game that results in the cloud as an application installment.
“Cloud’s game transforms the way players access and experience games, and the allocation must evolve alongside,” said Adam Smart, product director, Gaming at Appsflyer, in a press release. “Appsflyer has teamed up with Samsung to redefine what an installation in the Cloud environment means. As our technologies evolve, our measurement capacities must adapt to their side. Together, we were the pioneers in a whole new way for developers and publishers to follow and optimize the performance of their advertising campaigns without obliging players to physically install a game. ”
Once a player is launching a title via an ad click, the cloud -based allocation solution also allows developers and publishers to follow performance in Cloud Games – including purchases in play.
The Samsung Galaxy store offers more advantages
Unlocking the advantages of the Samsung mobile cloud game platform on Galaxy devices is facilitated thanks to the existing Galaxy Store infrastructure. Developers and publishers can easily rely on the platform with full access to a full suite of SDKs and tools. It also supports existing monetization models for a transparent adjustment with current operations.
In addition, Samsung brings a change in its public terms and putting more funds in the hands of developers and publishers with an 80/20 income sharing model for games on the Galaxy Store. This structure also applies to games built on the Samsung cloud game platform, offering even more opportunities to partners. The new share of income will take effect on May 15, 2025.
The collection of Samsung mobile game offers on its Cloud platform and the Galaxy Store – as well as premium promotional support and direct distribution to millions of preloaded galaxies on a global scale – creates unequaled efficiency and profitability for developers and publishers.
