President Donald Trump activated the National Guard on Sunday in the Arkansas struck in the tornadoes after tornadoes and strong winds tore several states during the weekend, leaving at least 37 people.
Violent winds torn the heart on Saturday, threatening Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma with tornadoes, buildings and damaged houses. Northern states, including southern Dakota and Minnesota, faced Blizzard warnings.
“We actively monitor the severe tornadoes and storms that have had an impact on many southern and midwest states – 36 innocent lives were lost, and many more devastated,” said Trump in a Sunday article on X.
“The National Guard has been deployed in Arkansas, and my administration is ready to help state officials and local, because they help their communities trying to recover damages. Please join Melania and me to pray for everyone affected by these terrible storms!” The president wrote.

The National Guard tweeted that its Arkansas officers “will support the civil authorities ensuring security and humanitarian assistance in the communities affected by tornadoes in the center and the east of the Arkansas”.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said there were about 50 national guards and 40 state police officers in Arkansas.
“While you browse this community, you see so many neighbors going out, taking care of each other,” she said in a video published on X. “One of the things that will make you so proud as governor is to see neighbors helping the neighbors, and never more true than in this community today. We have around 40 police officers on the field in the county, around 50 national guard.”

In an article on X, Sanders said that she had spoken with Trump on the phone, who “said to tell the inhabitants of Arkansas that he loves them and that he and his administration are there to help everything we need after last night tornadoes.”
Missouri resident Dakota Henderson told the Associated Press that he and a few others helped save neighbors under rubble on Friday evening and found five bodies in the process.

“It’s really disturbing for what happened to people, the victims last night,” Henderson said on Saturday.

The evacuations were ordered Friday for certain regions of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and New Mexico.
Strong winds have caused forest fires in the southern plains, and violent storms and tornadoes were also possible in eastern Louisiana, Western Georgia, the center of Tennessee, Carolina from the north of the West and South Carolina, and the West Panhandle.
