F1 Academy is back for a new season and you can watch each race in 2025 Live on Sky Sports F1.
After the British Abbi shot dominated last year and chose not to defend its titles, all the eyes will be on which can become champion in 2025.
F1 Academy creates a gentle transition from the F1 Feder series scale, with the possibility of a woman flowing in F1 in the future.
The last driver to participate in an F1 weekend was the director general of the F1 Academy Susie Wolff for Williams in British GP 2014, when she participated in the practice.
Lella Lombardi is the last pilot to run in the Grand Prix himself in 1976, and she was the only woman to score points when she finished sixth in the Spanish GP in 1975.
What is F1 Academy?
The F1 Academy was launched in November 2022 by Formula 1 in order to prepare and develop female drivers to allow them to progress at higher competition levels.
The category is designed to “give more access to track time, race and tests, as well as support with technical, physical and mental preparations”.
We hope that the F1 Academy will provide the experience of progress 3 progress and will help to offer formula 2 and Formula 1 opportunities in the future.
Susie Wolff, the former development driver of Williams F1 and last woman to drive during an F1 training session 11 years ago, heads the series as general manager.
Which car is used in F1 Academy?
The F1 Academy will see all the pilots run in identical cars – a T421 Tatuus chassis which is also used in Formula 4.
The cars are powered by turbo-paved engines supplied by Autotecnica and capable of 174 horsepower, while Pirelli provides tires.
Cars will have a top speed of 240 km / h (149 MPH).
What happened in 2024?
ABBI TIRANT won nine of the 14 races as she headed for the title, remarkably ending each race on the podium.
Tiring won by 121 points on the Mercedes junior, Doriane Pin, who won the opening of the season, but an injury to her side seemed to trust him and form.
Maya Weug finished third in the standings and won an exciting final of the season in Abu Dhabi, which, hopefully, will continue this year.
Who are the 2025 pilots and teams?
The F1 Academy offers six teams – Art, Campos, Rodin Carlin, MP Motorsport, Prema and New Entry Heech – each entering three cars to build a grid of 18 people.
The six teams also run in Formula 3 and Formula 2 and have a pedigree to pass young talents: Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are art alumni, Lando Norris received his F2 debut by Campos before running for CARLIN, Charles Leclerc and Mick Schumacher both won the F2 title with Prema Motorsport A 2022 F2 Felipe Felipe Drugovich.
There will be a new champion of the F1 academy while the winner of 2024 shooting moved to the GB3 championship. Inaugural champion of 2023 Marta Garcia runs in sports cars.
Last year’s finalist Doriane Pin, will start the season as a favorite and her rival closest to the title should be Maya Weug.
Chloe Chambers, Aurelia Nobels, Aurelia Nobels, Lia Block and Tina Hausmann come back from last season, while Ella Lloyd in Great Britain has a full-time seat.
Calendar F1 Academy 2025
For the second season, F1 Academy takes place exclusively on Formula 1 weekend this season with seven laps, from Shanghai at the Chinese Grand Prix of the Arab Grand Prix from March 21 to 23.
Jeddah follows on April 18 to 20, before two trips to North America with Miami on May 1 to 3 and a first visit to Montreal from June 13 to 15.
Only one European event is on the calendar this year, Zandvoort from August 29 to 31.
The F1 Academy returns to the delicate streets of Singapore on October 3 to 5, before the last race weekend in Las Vegas on November 20 to 22.
Weekend format of the F1 Academy
Each racing weekend from the F1 Academy will offer at least five track action sessions.
The first training will take place on Friday morning of a race weekend, before qualifying or an additional training session later during the day.
New for 2025 is an inverted grid race for race 1, because the first eight qualification are returned to determine the starting grid. Those who qualify as ninth to 18th will start in these posts for the two races.
Race 2 will take place on Sunday morning with the starting grid defined by the results of the qualification.
Point system of the F1 Academy
Two points are assigned for pole position and one point is given for the fastest round of each race, if you finish in the top eight for race 1, or the top 10 for race 2.
The reverse grid race will have fewer points offered, so only the first eight will score points: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Race 2 uses the same point system as F1, so the top 10 will score points: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1.
