Alpine announced that the director of the Oliver Oakes team has resigned with immediate effect.
Oakes, which became an Alpine boss last summer, will have its recovery functions by the executive advisor Flavio Briatore, who supervised several world titles for Benetton in the 1990s and Renault in the mid -2000s.

Alpine said: “BWT Alpine Formula One Team announces that Oliver Oakes resigned from his role as team director. The team has accepted his resignation with an immediate effect.
“To date, Flavio Briatore will continue as an executive advisor and will also cover the tasks previously carried out by Oliver Oakes.
“The team would like to thank Oliver for his efforts since he joined last summer and for his contribution to helping the team to obtain sixth place in the 2024 manufacturers’ championship.
“The team will not make any other comments.”
