Apple has announced the adoption of iOS 18 prices Friday, which only differ slightly from the figures of iOS 17 a year ago. The company claims that IOS 18 has been installed on 68 % of all iphones (January 21) and 76 % of the models of the last four years.
A year ago, 66 % of all iphones ran IOS 17, there is therefore a 2 % increase for iOS 18 this year. The other statistic was identical to today’s data: 76 % of iPhones in the previous four years used iOS 17 in January 2024.
The owners of iPad do not move dramatically either. Apple claims that 53 % of all iPads use iPados 18 (the same as iPados 17 a year ago). And 63 % of the tablets of the last four years executed iPados 18. It is a notch above the 61 % of devices of the previous four years performing iPados 17 at the beginning of last year.
Does the little boost come from the fact that Apple Intelligence courts a few additional curious adopters? Unfortunately, the company does not know how many people have opted for its sequence of generative AI features.
Be that as it may, we can assume that Apple wants the adoption of Apple Intelligence to develop: in the latest beta version of iOS 18.3, Apple activates its default AI features during integration. (You can always unsubscribe after that, but you have to search in the settings to do this.) In the previous versions, it was a membership feature that you should explicitly accept during installation. This software could arrive next week.
