The announcement of BMW Group UK according to which he “no longer publishes on X” aroused negative reactions and mockery. In his message, the British branch of the German luxury car manufacturer has also assured its customers that the company would continue to publish on Facebook and Instagram.

Although the company did not explain the reasoning behind this decision, many users of social networks have linked it to a controversy involving the owner of X, Elon Musk, doing what the criticisms call “Nazi hi” during of the investiture of President Donald Trump.

Musk A was criticized by the criticisms who accused him of having made a “fascist salute” while he was speaking during an event on the day of the inauguration. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as the Anti-Diffamation League (ADL) defended the billionaire, the ADL claiming that what Elon Musk had done was only “clumsy gesture” and “no A Nazi salute ”.

Following the announcement of the company on social networks, X users were quick to discuss the past links of the German luxury car manufacturer with Adolf Hitler, many publishing images of it visiting BMW factories.

“Never ask a man his salary, a woman her weight or a German company what was his main source of work between 1939 and 1945”, wrote Jack “Kenjac” Kennedy, podcastor and content creator of Barstool Sports.

On its website, BMW evokes its history, including the actions of the company during “the national-socialist era”, but the page makes no mention of Hitler or the Nazis.

“During the war, the management of the company did not show any moral scruples by generalizing forced work and the prisoners in the concentration camps in order to respect the production figures set by the authorities. These people had to Work in terrible conditions and many have died of death. “BMW carries a substantial part of the responsibility of these events and undoubtedly incurred a part of guilt by committing these crimes.”

The company was also criticized for “waking up”. This occurs while many companies have started to return to DEI policies. Even Senator Mike Lee, Rutah, joined the mockery, telling his supporters that they should not buy BMW.

“BMW =” Becoming More Woke “, wrote Lee on X.” Don’t buy their cars. “

Meanwhile, Chaya Raichik, the designer of the Popular X Account Libsoftiktok, made fun of the company for writing this message.

“It’s not an airport. You don’t need to announce your departure,” Raichik wrote.

Benjamin Netanyahu defends Elon Musk

After criticisms earlier this week, Musk joked saying that the “radical leftists” were upset to have to take a break in “the praise of Hamas to call me Nazi”, which prompted Netanyahu to defend the billionaire.

The Israeli Prime Minister said Musk was “falsely defamed”, calling him “a great friend of Israel”.

When asked to comment on the controversy, a spokesperson for BMW UK told New York post That “in the United Kingdom, we will continue to be active on X, providing a dedicated customer support channel”. The spokesperson would not apparently have mentioned the controversy surrounding Musk or if she had contributed to the decision.

BMW UK has not yet responded to a request for comments from Fox Business.
