As the Buffalo Bills host the Denver Broncos on Sunday in a wildcard playoff game, fans in both cities will be able to enjoy a “Battle Boat” – a giant menu item at Highmark Stadium recently promoted by a content creator on social networks.
The Battle Boat is a 2-foot-long display of spicy waffle fries combined with food from two NFL cities. One half is filled with Buffalo staples and the other contains a culinary delight from the opposing team’s location.
Cameron Guzzo, 26, of Massachusetts, said he decided to highlight the French fry-filled monstrosity during a recent trip to Buffalo for his “At the Stadium Food Review” series.

“Every stadium I go to, I try to see if they have a crazy food, something attention-grabbing, something funny,” Guzzo told Fox News Digital. “It seems like these videos are doing really well and people are really enjoying seeing the outrageous side of it.”
A civil engineer who cheers for the Bills despite living in New England Patriots territory, Guzzo said he wouldn’t have heard about the Battle Boat without an email from the team.

“It’s kind of in a hidden corner that you wouldn’t see if you just walked through the lobby,” Guzzo said.
Luckily for him, he said, he received the email with stadium food deals.

“That’s the only way I know about it,” he said. “And I’m so glad I did because it was one of the coolest foods I’ve ever encountered at a sporting event.”

The Battle Boat was available at Highmark Stadium throughout the 2024 season. But it debuted during last season’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, although under a different name, the spokesman said. Delaware North, Glen White, at Fox News Digital.

Then known as “Stampede Fries,” the arrangement of 2-foot fries was topped with Buffalo chicken and blue cheese on one half and chopped pastrami, coleslaw and shredded cheese on the other.

Called “Bad Blood Waffle Fries,” the dish pitted Kansas City-style barbecue against Buffalo chicken dip as a split topping.
The concept stuck, but it took a child coming up with a permanent name during a “bring your child to work” day at Delaware North headquarters.
“We had difficulty finding a coherent and catchy name, so our [executive chef] Stephen Forman asked the opinions of all the kids present that day, and Battle Boat was suggested and became the clear winner,” White said.

Although the Battle Boat costs $28, Guzzo said it is worth it.
“The week I ate it, it was a Greek theme, so it was chicken souvlaki, Greek dressing and fetta,” Guzzo said. “And then the other side changes drastically to the opponent’s city.”
He was there for a game against the New York Jets.
“Food transcends everyone.”
“It was New York-themed,” Guzzo said. “It was meatballs with marinara and mozzarella.”
Guzzo had no idea what might be on display for Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

“The only thing I heard about before I went to Denver was Rocky Mountain oysters,” Guzzo said, adding that he “wouldn’t like that to be what was on the menu “. [other] next to the waffle fries.
He won’t have to worry. The Bills and Delaware North announced that Denver’s half would be “topped with a Denver omelet: scrambled eggs, peppers, onions and pancetta.”

As for the upcoming NFL stadium food that Guzzo will chronicle, that’s an unreleased item, “so I can’t talk too much about it right now.”
Nonetheless, Guzzo said, he realized that “food transcends everyone.”
