ESPN reports that Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have agreed to stay their trial for 90 days. They reached an agreement to abandon it.
The two fighters reach an agreement to fight later this year, and dropping the legal dispute will clear the way for the fight.
Prosecution pending
The settlement resolves the lawsuit, but it must be finalized. Once finalized, the lawsuit will be dismissed. Ryan said that was the condition for him to negotiate a rematch with Haney.
Turki Al-Sheikh wants this revenge. Haney (31-0, 15 KO) filed a lawsuit after testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine following his win over Devin on April 20.

Ryan revealed today that he has a mystery opponent for his next fight, and he “can’t wait” for fans to find out who it is. It’s not Haney. There’s not much interest in a second fight between them after the way Ryan obliterated him last April.
He wouldn’t fight him again unless he dropped his lawsuit. This makes sense for Haney, as he would likely get more money fighting Ryan than if it were a trial. Without a rematch, Haney would be forced to fight other fighters for less money and a lot of risk.

That’s why he needs to get a rematch with Ryan. Even if his career collapses immediately afterwards, he will have this big salary to live on for the rest of his life.
Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia jointly asked the court Wednesday to suspend proceedings for 90 days surrounding the lawsuit against Garcia due to a tentative settlement, according to a legal document obtained by ESPN.
