This eclectic list touches on some of the hottest investing themes of the year. So let’s jump straight into the five and why some particular pairings still seem like great values.

Law enforcement technology company Axone Company (NASDAQ:AXON) made the list thanks to its impressive growth, the launch of new Tasers and body cameras, and its adoption by law enforcement.

Vistra (NYSE:VST) has also benefited from the rise of AI applications, with data center companies signing deals to procure nuclear power. They did this because nuclear power is carbon-free (which helps data centers and cloud companies meet their emissions targets) and reliable.
That’s music to Vistra’s ears, which has cheered the market by acquiring more nuclear capacity in 2024. Investors are eagerly awaiting word on whether it will sign a deal with a cloud services company, although news of a fire at its battery factory in California was briefly reported. stocks fell sharply on January 17.
Last on this list of top five performers in 2024 is an old economy stock, United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL). The airline industry has allayed fears of a slowdown in 2024 and appears to be behaving in a more disciplined manner by reducing capacity when necessary. Furthermore, with the strong return of business and transatlantic travelers as 2025 approaches (two particularly strong areas for United Airlines), the stock has every chance of outperforming in 2025.
