Barcelona and Atletico Madrid pulled 4-4 during the first stage of their semi-final of Copa Del Rey.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both joined two goals in a 4-4 draw in the first stage of the Copa del Rey semi-final at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company in Catalonia, in Spain.
Atletico scored twice in the first six minutes before conceding four unanswered goals and even returned to the match with goals in the last 10 minutes, including the equalizer of the replacement Alexander Sorloth three minutes after the start of the end of the stop.
Barcelona saw Atletico take an early advance, with goals from Julian Alvarez in the first minute and Antoine Griezmann in the sixth, but the hosts equaled the match in the 21st minute thanks to goals two minutes apart per interval by Pedri and Pau Cubarsi.
The Catalan club took an advance of 3-2 at halftime after Iñigo Martínez marked in the 41st. Robert Lewandowski increased the advance in the 74th.
Atletico got closer to Marcos Llorente in the 84th and Sorloth obtained the equalizer at close range.
The return match will be at the Atletico Metropolitano stadium in April.
The winner will play Real Madrid or Real Sociedad, who will play his match at first glance in the Basque Country on Wednesday.
Barcelona won the competition for the last time in 2021 and Atletico in 2013.
Atletico had beaten Barcelona 2-1 in the Spanish League at the last team meeting in December.
Until the semi-final, the COPA direct elimination towers were played in single elimination matches.
