Edgar Berlanga will return next month against Jonathan Gonzalez-Ordi Invainu in an average weight fight on a promotional program on March 15 on Dazn at the Royal Caribe in Orlando, Florida. It is the Booster of Confidence that Berlanga recently beaten (22-1, 17 KB) that he would have taken.
Berlanga was downgraded to Undercard on the Austin average weight ‘Ammo’ Williams against Patrice Volny Card. It is a big fall for Edgar, who goes from the postal head to the main support of the Williams card of the recently eliminated ammunition.
The return
The native of Puerto Rican, 35 years old, Gonzalez-Ortiz returned in 2024 after being out of the ring for 10 years since 2014, beating Edward Ulloa Diaz and Jose Saint-Hilaire Gil (5-23). Berlanga lost against the unified average weight champion of Canelo Alvarez last year on September 14 in a unanimous decision at 12 laps in Las Vegas. It was the first berlanga fight against a really world -class opponent, and he looked completely outdated despite a huge advantage over the Mexican star. Berlanda looked like a Cruiserweight. This fight was not worth watching, because Berlanga seemed to be there to survive.
