Liverpool’s boss, Arne Slot, questioned the work rate of Darwin Nunez and says that he “cannot accept it if a player does not give everything”.
Slot spoke of his frustration with the behavior of Nunez’s slowdown after the end of the Uruguay striker at Aston Villa last week, but now admitted that he was not unhappy with his efforts in the Previous match with wolves.
Nunez was a second half substitute for two games, and should be among the substitutes this evening when Liverpool welcomes Newcastle to Anfield.

“I helped him saying that you can miss a chance,” said Slot, explaining his comments after the match at Villa.
“I was not only hard with him. But for the second consecutive time, I was not satisfied with his work effort, against Wolves and against Villa.
“I can’t accept it if a player does not give everything. It’s clear. I can accept it once, but twice was a little too much. This is why I approached it.
“If you are missing a chance, you have to fight for the team. I am not saying that he did not do that at all, but it was not the usual Darwin, the one who is loved by fans. It’s mainly because he still works so hard.
Slot said, however, that Nunez was “incredible” in training on Monday while he tries to resume credit with the director.
