Union Minister of Agriculture, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, called Air India on Saturday for having given him a “broken” seat on a Bhopal flight to Delhi. In an article strongly written on X, Chouhan described the headquarters as “pressed and uncomfortable” and wondered why the passengers were sold tickets for defective seats.
“I had reserved a ticket on Air India Flight AI436 and I was assigned headquarters number 8C. When I sat down, I sank-it was uncomfortable, “he wrote, adding that other passengers offered him a better seat, but he chose to stay in his assigned seat to avoid the disadvantages of others.
Chouhan said that when he had confronted the staff of airlines, they admitted that management had already been informed of the defective headquarters and had been advisable to sell tickets for this. “Not only one, but many seats of this type exist,” he said, wondering if Air India planned to solve these problems or continue to “take advantage of the constraint of passengers to reach their destination”.
His remarks also made a blow to the Air India transition under the Tata group, expressing the disappointment of the airline service after the merger with Vistara. “I thought that the Air India service would improve after Tata took over, but it seems that I was wrong,” he said.
The appellant “contrary to ethics” to charge complete dishes for a defective seat, he directly questioned: “Doesn’t that deceive passengers?”
In response, Air India has apologized, declaring that he “examines the question carefully to prevent future events”. The airline has also asked Chouhan to connect in private to discuss the question more.
