The American Court of Appeal for the ninth circuit rendered a decision on the efforts of the founder of Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes on Monday, to cancel his conviction, choosing to maintain him.
The court simultaneously said the conviction of the former president of Theranos, Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, on charges from their blood test company Theranos, according to The file published online by the court auditor.

Holmes, who launched Theranos as a student and became her public face, was charged alongside Balwani, his former romantic partner, in 2018. The two were sentenced in 2022 to 11 years and three months, and 12 years and 11 months, respectively.

Balwani began to serve his prison sentence in April 2023. Holmes started his sentence a little more than a month after that.
