The serious allegations of a Reddit user against a high computer company have triggered indignation and debate online, highlighting serious affirmations of mental harassment, salary denial and questionable HR practices in one of the largest technological companies in India.
In a detailed reddit position, the anxious user-Tangelo-8150 said that the company, after the end of the user’s project in mid-October, their team was transferred to the bench-a common industrial practice for inactive employees awaiting new projects. The user said: “Since we had the opportunity to work at home, we used it”, but the problems started when returned to the office in January and were assigned to a new project.
According to the user’s account, its internal access (Ultimatix) was suddenly blocked. By contacting HR, they received a shocking answer. “They said that as I did not show up at the office in mid-October to December, they would not pay me for these three months. In addition, they informed me that they would deduce my salary from next three months to recover the arrears,” said the Reddit user.
To complicate the questions, HR would have required written acceptance of these conditions to unlock access and insisted on the daily attendance of the functions thereafter. During this period, the user said that he “had not received any financial support”, the company and his provident fund (PF) was not credited either, forcing them to rely on personal savings for rent, food and other essential elements.
Frustration has deepened as the new user project involved the demanding work of changes from 2 p.m. to midnight – or later – for a customer based in the United States. However, HR programmed compulsory meetings at 10 a.m., penalizing absences by adding additional arrears, “whether I worked or not that day,” added the user.
The Reditor also mentioned intimidation in the face of resignation: “HR were extremely rude and insisted that I had to pay the salary of three months before leaving and mentioned that they were in me.”
The reactions of other Reddit users varied considerably. A speaker advised an immediate escalation, recommending: “Send an e-mail to all report managers describing each possible harassment … and use this mail in the social media in case they smooth.”
Another user argued that the complaint could lack validity, saying: “Only quarterly variable remuneration is assigned in the event of non-report to their functions”, suggesting that the scenario presented was improbable or exaggerated.
Others have urged prudence, noting: “wise to assume nothing on the bench”, warning that the absence of documented approvals or work evidence completed during the bench could leave the user to “a futile fight”.
