Few things say “luxury” like private jet trips.
Whether you have your own plane or pay thousands of dollars per hour to access a private plane via a service like Flexion jetThe price to avoid traveling with the masses is steep.
Kenn Ricci transformed the luxury of making the soldier into a successful entrepreneurial career. Formerly a pilot himself, Ricci spent years piloting meadows like Elton John and Bruce Springsteen and even piloted Bill Clinton’s plane during his presidential campaign.
As president of Flexjet, the second largest commercial private jet operator in the country, Ricci has been responsible for ensuring that the very rich have for their money when they enter one of the 600 at 900 flights that his company operates daily.
“Why do people pay $ 80,000 to go to London when they could fly in first class or first for $ 12,000 or $ 15,000?” he asks.
The answer, says Ricci, is because there is one thing that the very rich value above all: time.
‘Whatever you want, we will do that for you’
Although the intimacy, luxury and convenience of private plane trips are a huge draw, Ricci says that the real sale argument is the peace of mind that tens of thousands of dollars can buy you during your trip.
“Where can you buy time? Where can you buy less stress?” he said. “That’s why they really pay.”
Even while stealing from first class, travelers have to face airport traffic and TSA lines. When they arrive at their door, their flight could be delayed or canceled.
When you pay up to $ 10,000 per hour of private flight, Ricci says that this stress is removed from your plate.

President, Flexjet
“When our plane breaks, or if the weather is bad, we feel bad for the customer. We find alternatives. We solve their problem,” he said. “If you are on an airline and the plane is canceled, you must solve your own problem. They pay for the withdrawal of the hassles and to save time.”
“We want your problem to be solved,” he adds. “I’m going to say” What will make you happy? Whatever you wanted, we will do it for you. “”
Sometimes this problem solving means finding alternative travel arrangements. For particularly unhappy customers, this could mean that Flexjet offers to compare the high price of their trip to apologies for the disadvantages.
“This is what customers like to us: if we fail you, we apologize,” he said. “We did not meet the standard, we did not meet your expectations. So they attract attention, which makes the travel experience different from that when you have to make your way.”
However, Ricci does not recommend that its customers break the bank to fly private whatever happens. In fact, he often tells customers that they should not spend more than 10% of their discretionary income on his offers.
“I’m proud not to have something that wouldn’t be in your interest,” he said. “If you have an disposable income of a million dollars, you are crazy if you spend more than $ 100,000 per year on this asset.”
