The French style restaurant chain Bistrot Pierre has announced the immediate closure of eight British places, including two in the northwest.
The affected locations are Birmingham, Coventry, Kidderminster, Leamington Spa, Mere Green, Newport, Preston and Southport, and cause 158 job losses.
The ten other Bistrot Pierre restaurants will pursue operations, safeguard 394 jobs, under the ownership of Cherry Equity Partners, a investment company in investment-investment based in the United Kingdom.
Founded in Nottingham in 1994 by John Whitehead and Robert Beacham, the French channel was faced with economic challenges, the inflation cited as an important factor in recent closures.
In Southport, an opinion informed closure customers, declaring: “Will Wright and Ryan Grant of Interpath Advisory were appointed joint administrators of Bistrot Pierre 1994 Limited on March 7, 2025. The restaurant is now closed.”
Bistrot Pierre was supported by the investment capital company whose investment capital is in the middle of the London market and was sold to the administration in 2020.
For the 12 months completed on June 30, 2023, the turnover of the channel fell to 24 million pounds of Sterling ($ 25.9 million) of 28 million pounds Sterling the previous year. The loss before tax was 2.5 million pounds sterling against £ 670,000 a year earlier.
The CEO of Cherry Equity Partners, Ed Standring, said: “This investment marks our second acquisition in as many months and underlines our deep commitment to the British hotel sector – an industry that fascinates us incredibly and that we think we are full of opportunities. Bistrot Pierre is a beloved bistro, bar and the shop to invest and grow for trade.”
