Bumble finally catches up with the competitor Tinder with a new identification check functionality as a meeting application for Invite to more security measures.
In addition to the identification verification, the company also published three other features, including a functionality that signals inappropriate messages in the cat before users were on sending and the possibility of sharing the details of the date with friends. Bumble also launched a dedicated “Discover” page to help users find correspondence with similar interests.
The new Bumble’s verification functionality allows users to submit an image of an identifier issued by the government to authenticate their identity and win a badge for their profile. This allows users to sort profiles according to those checked by ID and also ask their matches to complete the verification process.
Functionality is currently available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Mexico and New Zealand. It plans to expand soon in additional markets.
The Bumble identification insignia is available because AI makes it more difficult to determine which dating profile is real or false. It also occurs while romantic scams continue. Rival Tinder expanded its identity verification program last year in the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico.
In addition, a new “sharing date” feature allows Bumble users to share their date details, such as the person they meet, time and location – with people they trust. If the plans change, they can update their friends directly in the application. Tinder launched a “Share My Date” feature in April 2024.
Another security focused on security, “revise before sending”, targets the messaging section, where users frequently meet inappropriate messages. Initially introduced for the compliment functionality, revise before sending the shipments to modify the messages reported before sending.
Bumble’s new “Discover” experience offers a new way to find the most compatible people. Similar to Tinder’s “Explore” page, users can explore different categories to find people with shared meetings, similar interests and communities. The profiles are refreshed daily.
Functional ads are part of Bumble’s attempt to restore the growth of its meeting application, after a 3.8% drop in quarterly application income to $ 212.4 million in the fourth quarter.
