The heavyweight champion George Foreman died at the age of 76, his family announced on Friday.
Foreman died surrounded by relatives, said his family.

“A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father and a proud large and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by an unshakable faith, a humility and a goal,” continued the post.
“Humanitarian, Olympian and twice world heavyweight champion, he was deeply respected – a force for good, a man of discipline, a conviction and a protector of his inheritance, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name – for his family,” added the post.
His family said that they “were grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and that we ask to ask for intimacy when we honor the extraordinary life of a man that we were lucky to call ours”.
