Trader Joe’s premade salad could leave people in the US ill: recall

Hundreds of people who bought a prepacké Joe trader salad can be at risk of having an allergic reaction to cheese that has made its way in the meal instead of onions.

Certain packets of SSO SESSAME salad with salmon may contain an undeclared milk allergen, according to a recall of the company.

About 500 salad units were wrapped by mistake with a bundle sealed with crumbly parmesan cheeses instead of a packet of crisp onions, said the recall.

Although no negative health effect on health has been reported, those who are lactose intolerant can experience bloating, diarrhea, gas, abdominal pain and cramps, or nausea after eating incorrectly labeled food.

Those who bought the salad should check to ensure that the “use by” codes do not list on April 28, 2025 or April 29, 2025.

The salads were sold in 18 states, notably: Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Salads that qualify for the recall can be returned to a trader Joe store for a full refund.
