A Norwegian oil and maritime company, Haltbakk Bunkers, has announced an immediate stop to the provisions for the US military forces in Norway. The decision comes in response to the controversial meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on Friday.
Haltbakk Bunkers, which provided approximately 3 million liters of American army in 2024, published a strong statement on the meta criticizing the American management. “Today, we have witnessed the biggest” Sh * T Show “never presented live on television by the current American president and his vice-president,” wrote the company. “Huge credit to the president of Ukraine for having retained himself despite the steps of the United States. This made us sick. Short and sweet.”
Following this, the company said: “Consequently, we decided to immediately stop providing fuel to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports.”
The position was then deleted, apparently due to intense traffic on the company page.
Gunnar Gran, owner and CEO of Haltbakk Bunkers, reaffirmed the position of the company in an interview with the Norwegian point of sale cystens. “Not a liter will be delivered as long as Trump is finished,” he said.
He urged Norwegians and Europeans to follow suit, declaring: “We support Ukraine. We have many Ukrainian employees, and we know how this war affects them and their families.”
Although the Norwegian government has not published a similar directive, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store commented: “We have now five to six weeks of Trump as president. I think we must still understand the consequences of the style, actions and words they use.”
The daring decision of the company sparked international discussions, highlighting the ethical responsibilities of companies in the midst of geopolitical tensions.
Despite the suspension of fuel supply by Haltbakk Bunkers, the Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik reassured that the US military forces would continue to receive full logistical support in Norway. “The United States and Norway maintain close and solid defense cooperation. US forces will continue to receive the offer and support they need,” he said.
The Haltbak Bunkers had previously ceased trade relations with Russian entities following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022, resulting in significant income loss. “We have lost a lot of income. But we have a moral compass,” said Gran.
“Now the United States is excluded according to its behavior towards Ukrainians,” he added, stressing: “We choose our customers.”
