Manchester United will be active on the summer transfer market to sign a new striker.
The Red Devils have recently been linked to a decision for Victor Osimhen, who is currently loaned to Galatasaray on the Italian side Napoli.
There have been suggestions in the media that the Red Devils could be involved in an exchange agreement for the Nigerian striker by sending Rasmus Hojlund in the other direction.
However, the reliable journalist David Ornstein reported that he is very unlikely that Hojlund will leave the club.
The giants of the Premier League have total confidence in the talents of the young attacker despite his bad shape this season.
He shattered his dryness drought against Leicester City in the last match and Ruben Amorim hopes for the attacker in the coming matches.
Speaking on the Rear pages Podcast, Ornstein said:
“Certainly an interesting proposal, I don’t know how realistic it is. Manchester United spent more than 70 million pounds on Rasmus Hojlund.
“He is young, he just found the bottom of the net after a long drought against Leicester, and my presumption is that they will want to build with him, rather than bringing a much older attacker in what would be a complicated affair.
“I expect Victor Osimhen to be in motion, since Napoli let him go to Galatasaray and that the future is really uncertain for him.
“And Manchester United was linked, but I don’t know how realistic it is for Manchester United to let go of the Rasmus Hojlund.
“He is the one who would collect funds, but he would not produce profit on the accounting value he represents.
“So I think it is more likely that United will collect funds from elsewhere, an agreement as attractive as it might seem for transfer enthusiasts.”
Man United has big decisions to be made in summer
If the Red Devils want to sign Osimhen, one of their current attackers should give way to him.
Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both had a hard time at the club, but the two showed recent improvement signs.
It remains to be seen what the future has in store for us, but there is a feeling around the club that the manager has faith in young attackers.
If Osimhen joins them, he walks immediately in the starting line and Hojlund and Zirkzee may have to be satisfied with a role on the bench.
The first League giants also expressed their interest in the Frankfurt attacker Eintracht Hugo Ekitike.
