The former Rangers boss, Ally Mccoist, believes that Frank Lampard is the man to relaunch the giants in difficulty of Glasgow.
The stock of Lampard fell in England after disappointing stays in Everton and Chelsea, where he was drafted as a goalkeeper during the last weeks of the 2022-23 season after managing the club for 18 months before.
But he made a strong impression with Coventry, and nine victories of their last 10 championship games allowed them to go up in the eliminatory position.
Lampard signed a two and a half year contract when he was appointed by the Sky Blues in November 2024, but that did not prevent Mccoist from doing so to take over in Ibrox.
The former Scottish striker, who led the Rangers from 2011 to 2014, said Talksport Pari: “The Rangers should have gone to Frank Lampard before going to Coventry.
“I said it for a while and I think he could have been like Steven Gerrard in the way they come to the club with hunger to succeed, because I have always felt that he was too criticized for some of the results in his previous jobs. He seems to have found his feet.

Ferguson placed in provisional load at the Rangers
The Rangers dismissed Philippe Clement last month and placed Barry Ferguson in steady to the summer.
The results continued to be mixed, but they enjoyed a superb 3-1 victory in Fenerbahce last week during the first leg of their ram equality of 16.
“I must admit that the appointment of Barry Ferguson surprised me; I thought it was the left field, ”added McCiscist. “I am a supporter of the Rangers and I want the boys to work well, but it surprised me alongside the rest of the supporters – although it does not mean that we are not all behind him.
“I was not surprised that Philippe Clement lost the post. I understand, personally, I thought it could have a chance because of their European results, but I can see why you will get the back of the Queen of the Park and the defeats of Motherwell.
“They are so far from Celtic in the league and out of the cup, in the country, they were not good enough. I was not surprised and I will never say that I am happy to see a manager get fired, but I was not disappointed. “”
Would Gerrard come back?
Gerrard was also mentioned for a return to the Rangers after having guided them to the title of Scottish Premiership in 2021 and McCiscist would not be opposed either.
He said: “With regard to other candidates, Steven Gerrard would come back would not disappoint me, he knows the club well and has a point to prove.
“We are talking about Rafa Benitez and Derek Mcinnes – Derek knows the club well and I would be satisfied with him, the ship may have sailed for him. I can guarantee you that with the new owners who arrived, the work of the Rangers will be strongly sought and I hope they can bring the right man to advance them. »»
