After being arrested for drunk driving in February, a judge in Cranston, the Rhode Island, ordered a legislator from the Democratic State to install a blood pressure in his vehicle in order to continue driving.
The Enrique representative Sanchez, a progressive democrat who serves the House of Representatives of Rhode Island, was arrested early in the morning of February 3 after pretending to be a intersection.
The images of the Bodycam of the traffic stop which led to his arrest show that Sanchez offers the policeman a red debit card instead of his driver’s license before telling him that he had nothing to drink.

“How much do you drink?” One of the other officers of the premises asked Sanchez. “You have an alcohol, just be honest. You feel alcohol.”
When an officer asked Sanchez if he would pass a sobriety test on the ground, he asked if he could order an Uber if he refused. An officer told him that he could not order an Uber and refused to take a sobriety test on the scene.
During a first appearance before the court on the day of his arrest, Sanchez pleaded not guilty of drunk driving, and has since pleaded not guilty of less civil accusations of refusal of a chemical test and non-compliance with traffic control devices.
