President Donald Trump will announce new prices on car imports on Wednesday, the White House said.
Trump will unveil the new prices at a press conference at the Oval Office, said the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. The event was scheduled at 4 p.m., but at 5 p.m. had not started.
Trump on Monday had suggested that car prices could arrive before April 2, the day when his radical “reciprocal rate” plan should begin.
“We will announce this soon in the coming days, probably, then April 2 comes, it will be reciprocal prices,” he said at a meeting of the cabinet.
The actions fell at the bottom of the session after the announcement of the new price plans.

Trump has long reported his plans to impose heavy prices on foreign business partners. But its unpredictable and frequently changing policy deployments have sparked stock market disturbances and left business leaders uncertain in the way of planning for the future.
Trump excited on April 2 as “Liberation Day” and “The Great”. Its plan, as originally described, would take advantage of reciprocal prices on all countries that have their own import rights over American goods, while imposing prices in response to other disadvantaged trade policies, such as the use of value -added taxes.
But Trump and his officials recently suggested that the next prices on April 2 could end up being softer than they first appeared.
Trump said on Friday that “there will be flexibility” on these prices, and Tuesday evening suggested that the tasks will be more “indulgent than reciprocal”. Treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, said last week that countries can pre-negotiation With the United States to avoid dealing with new prices on April 2.
