Aston Villa moved to a point in the top five of the Premier League after a convincing 4-1 victory over Newcastle in shape.
Ollie Watkins scored after 33 seconds before hitting the woodwork twice as on the side of Unai Emery, at the back of a valiant out of the Champions League in the hands of PSG on Tuesday, exploded the blocks.
Fabian Sucar leveled for Newcastle, who, themselves, was in good shape in the competition, but three goals unanswered in the second half of the replacements Jacob Ramsey and Amadou Onana, plus a goal from Dan Burn gave the hosts a declaration victory.
For the Magpies, they remain in third position, but the result leads to an end to a series of six consecutive victories.

Villa quickly took out the blocks
It took 33 seconds for the hosts to trained. Youri Tielemans nourished Watkins whose right shooting has unchecked Fabian Schar.
The deviation was sufficient for the bad foot Nick Pope and Nestlé at the back of the net while Watkins equaled the record for most of the first league goals for Villa.

Schar was then reserved for a fault while Watkins seemed clearly to run, but the Swiss defender quickly made amends when he headed in the Newcastle equalizer in the 18th minute.
Watkins struck the woodwork for a second time when he met Marco Asensio’s free kick but his head hit the post.
Sandro Tonali then saw his weak efforts away by Emi Martinez while ASENSIO guessed his lines when he should have scored after a promising move to the left of Villa.
The side of Emery dominates after the break
In the second half, John McGinn pulled a wide stop of the Pope before Maathsen gave the hosts with his very first leading goal over 64 minutes.
Villa had struck the door after the break, so he was barely against the game when Watkins played in the rear which intelligently finished from a narrow angle.
Things would go better for Emery’s men when replacing Jacob Ramsey, a few moments after his arrival, flashed in a low cross which was inadvertently transformed into his own net by Burn.

A few seconds later, the Pope saved Rogers’ end before the villa midfielder takes place on the second half submarine, which sparked an unstoppable journey in the upper corner to make four.
The villa was endemic. Newcastle looked jaded. Ramsey struck the job while Emery’s team was trying to extend the lead more.
But there should no longer be any goals during an evening when villa’s hope to go back to the club’s elite football competition received an all-powerful boost.
