Other smart watches to consider

The number of smart watches on the market is amazing. I tested models from Tag heuerCitizen, MontblancAnd many other fashion brands, but most of them are simply too expensive for what you get. Here are some options that I like.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra for $ 650:: The 47 mm Galaxy Watch Ultra (7/10, Wired Review) is the competitor of Apple Watch Ultra et Garmin of the company, and this is a solid entry into the world of expensive smartwatches, rich in functionality and powerful designed for professional athletes. This lasts a little more than two days on a load because it is a large 47 mm watch and can wrap a bewildered battery. There is a titanium case and a sapphire glass face, in addition it is evaluated at 10 ATM and IP68, so you can immerse it up to 100 meters underwater. The cardiac frequency tracker is remarkably consistent with the Ultra 2 Apple Watch, and the double -band GPS offers precise mapping. The software is not as intuitive, and some features are lacking compared to other smart performance watches, but it is a good start if you are in the Android world.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Fe for $ 160:: The Galaxy Watch Fe is a smartwatch smartwatch OS Budget Wear, but I think it is more judicious to buy the Galaxy Watch6 series if you try not to spend much because you can find them at almost the same price. THE 40mm feet galaxy Watch To a smaller screen that does not become as bright, and has a slower processor and a smaller battery, you will therefore have a richer experience by spending a little more. The health sensors are almost the same and I obtained precise results with heart rate and sleep monitoring. The battery also lasts about one day, if not a little less.

OnePlus Watch 2 for $ 300:: This is the SmartWatch OnePlus from last year, but it is still available. It seems to be better value now than the price of OnePlus 3 has been increased. Avoid paying $ 300 for that (it’s Frequently $ 250 on AmazonAlthough I would chat while waiting for an even better sale). The 46 mm 2 OnePlus watch (7/10, Wired recommends) executes the operating system and lasts about three days in a single load, a little more if you activate certain energy saving parameters. Health capacities are lacking – there is no detection of falling or electrocardiogram – but there is a sleep follow -up, and it is quite precise. Certain features, such as monitoring of heart rate, distance traveled and steps, have mixed precision in my tests, which means that you should not buy this smart watch if you mainly use it for these functions. Let us also consider the OnePlus Watch 2Rfor which you can hang Less money. The differences are mainly around construction quality. The screen does not become so shiny, it has an aluminum case instead of stainless steel, and there is no sapphire crystal protecting the screen, so it is less durable. However, this makes it lighter and more comfortable to wear.

Apple Watch Series 9 for $ 301:: The 9 series (7/10, Wired recommends) is an excellent smart watch, but avoid buying it from its PDSF. Try to wait for a sale and spend less than $ 300. It has all the characteristics of usual health and fitness, and extras like double tap. (You can press the two fingers of your watch hand to accept or reject calls, answer messages, start or end the timers, and more. It’s super practical.)

CMF Watch Pro 2

CMF Watch Pro 2 for $ 69:: CMF is a sub-brand by nothing, and its Look pro 2 is a good value for money. It looks attractive (very minimalist!), And you can exchange the strap or even the shape of the telescope if you wish. It is one of the few smart watches of less than $ 100 that I like to wear that feels good on the wrist. Many of them look so bland and lack personality. It runs an owner operating system but works with Android iphones and devices via Bluetooth. I could see the notifications of my phone (you can only answer some with canned responses), and monitoring the heart rate and sleep was precise for a budgetary device, even if it takes a little more time to treat and show you the results. My number of steps, however, was disabled compared to high -end smart watches. You can follow the exercises with him, and he even has a GPS to provide mapping data, although the details are fairly basic, and there is no additional context to the figures. You can control the music reading, change the faces of the watch (they are all very pretty on the AMOLED display) and check the weather. The application is smooth, although I noticed that the watch tends to disconnect, so certain notifications do not occur all the time. Sometimes the watch screen is stuck on a single screen, and I have to press the crown to return to the home screen. These are fairly minor baffles, especially given the excellent 10 -day battery life that I was able to hit. I went to Paris for a few days and returned, and I did not even bring the charger. It is rare to find this type of value for $ 69.

With scanwatch 2 for $ 350:: The Scanwatch 2 (7/10, wired recommendations) can pass for an analog watch. Its set of health monitoring features is complete – you get monitoring of heart rate, electrocardiogram, blood oxygen and sleep monitoring. The battery life is also stellar, because it can live up to 30 days with light use. (The heavier use will see about 22 days before needing a load.) The main problem is the small screen of this watch, which is too small to read certain notifications. The GPS is also connected, which means that it requires your phone to be attached and nearby. There is an optional subscription for health +, but we advise it, because it does not offer much utility. The scanwatch 2 is available in a 42 mm or 38 mm case size and does not have the rich features and applications that you will find on an Apple watch, but if you want to monitor your health data – and you do not want your watch to be too technical – this will work.

Google Pixel Watch 2 for $ 249:: The original Pixel watch lacked many features when it was launched, but Google slowly added them over a year. This means the Pixel Watch 2 (7/10, Wired recommends) has almost whatever you want. There is automatic start and automatic drive detection, autumn detection, SPO2 Measures, and even a redesigned Fitbit application which seems much more modern. Google has even added a security check, allowing you to share your location with emergency contacts if you do not respond after a certain hour. And more recent updates have added features such as car accident detection and bicycle fall detection. It is a pretty watch and comfortable on the wrist. It also nails its health and fitness features, reliable heart rate and sleep tracking data to an improved training screen that shows you the most important information at a glance, including heart rate areas. The battery life is, unfortunately, quite simply – it will last about a day.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro for $ 350:: The design of a smartwatch is important. You must like to wear it! Unfortunately, I feel absolutely nothing for the last Mobvoi watch; The enduro is simply boring. It’s a shame because it is a Solid Wear OS watch that is catchy and can offer four days of battery life in a single load thanks to intelligent double -emission technology of the company (it uses a low power panel for the screen always on and an OLED for when you start to interact with it). The other problem? Mobvoi is mediocre to provide software updates in a timely manner, and who knows if this watch will even get the current version of Wear OS 5.

Huawei looks at D2 for £ 291:: At first glance, this smartwatch looks like a large Apple Watch blanket. It is not sold in the United States, but the reason to buy it, if it East Available in your region is the reasonably hidden and inflatable armband in the strap. Huawei’s D2 watch is the only smartwatch to provide ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), which can take measures over 24 hours, which is vital to obtain a precise image of your health because blood pressure changes throughout the day. This smartwatch is also quite good in fitness and sleep monitoring, but there is no voice assistant unless you have a Huawei phone, and the lack of varnish and is bright on insight (you get data, but very little explanation for what it means). The D2 watch did nothing to dispel my first impression and failed to match our other choices here on most fronts, but if you have been advised to keep an eye on your blood pressure, it could be worth it. –Simon Hill

Avoid these smart watches

Not all smartwatch are winners. Here are some that we have tried that are not worth the dough.

Montblanc Summit 3 for $ 1,270:: It is a beautiful (and large) intelligent watch, but it executes Wear OS 3, which is super dated. There is no speaker, no Google assistant, and the characteristics of fitness feel half cooked. It does not offer as much as a pretty face.
