The OG crew “Lord of the Rings” has been in the news cycle lately. With Warner Bros. Planning new cinematographic adaptations JRR Tolkien live, everyone wonders who could happen again after an interruption of 20 years of the land of the environment.

You can count Liv Tyler among those who are ready to jump directly in the action. Tyler is, of course, famous for having played the Elven Queen Arwen in the film “Lord of the Rings” by Peter Jackson. While the character has a minor role in Tolkien’s source material, Arwen is busy in the films. She fills up for the Elf-Lord Glorfindel by saving Froadon (Elijah Woods) of Black Riders and encourages Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) to make her destiny and to face Sauron. It was even filmed in various combat sequences, including the battle of Helm’s Deep (although it was cut later during the post-production).
Now Tyler said saying she’s ready to return to the Fantasy-Adventure franchise. In April 2025, she participated in a panel with other alumni from “Lord of the Rings”, including John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas). When they were asked if they come back, Tyler did not beat the bush. Here is what she said (via Nme):

“I would do everything. I write to [Jackson’s writing partners] French [Walsh] and Philippa [Boyens] All the time. I say to myself: “Hey, is there a chance that we will need Arwen?” It was such a gift to our lives. It is so difficult to summarize it with words, but it was such a deep gift. I would do anything to be able to see it again, feel it again, but we live it in our hearts and our minds now. “”
For those of you who wonder, Bloom was also interested in returning to Middle -earth – although it was specified before. Astin and Rhys-Davies, on the other hand, were both more warm in their response, but appeared for the challenge in the right circumstances.
Should Liv Tyler come back to Middle-earth?
The desire for distribution, and especially Liv Tyler, to return is clear. The question is: Should She returns for future Middle -earth projects? The role of Arwen has already been widened for “the Lord of the Rings”. Could she have a significant part in another history of the land of the environment?

Surprisingly, the answer is yes. It would certainly be possible to integrate it into the mixture. In fact, in an adaptation, in particular, it would be really logical to have even more arwen front time than the original trilogy. One of the only other areas of Arwen’s story on which Tolkien writes in detail takes place in the period when the next film “The Hunt for Gollum” by Andy Serkis is shot. Assuming that the project covers the years between “the hobbit” and “the Lord of the Rings”, it would be directly during the relationship and the flowery of Arwen and Aragorn “Lord of the Rings” begins and flowers.
If you go to ultra-territory stuff for a minute, let’s look at the chronology of the middle land. Here are some key dates from the end of the third age taken directly from the annexes of the book “Return of the King”:

Year 2941: Bilbo goes on his adventure. (He returned to the county the following year.)
Year 2944: Gollum leaves the misty mountains in search of his “precious”.
Year 2952: Aragorn and Arwen meet in Rivendell. Aragorn goes to nature to seek his destiny.
Year 2980: Aragorn and Arwen meet again, this time in Lothlórien, and “dissociate their troth”.
Year 3009: Aragorn and Gandalf went in search of Gollum.
Year 3016: Elrond calls Arwen de Lothlórien in Rivendell, because land becomes too dangerous.
Year 3017: Aragorn captures Gollum.
Do you see to what extent the story of Aragorn and Arwen is part of the context of the story hunt for Gollum? There is also more in the case for an Arwen return.
The return (and absence) of the main members of the distribution could make Arwen a perfect adjustment
With the main story of Arwen which overlaps so well with “The Hunt for Gollum”, there are potential yields and some which are not even more convincing. First of all, there is the possible return of Viggo Mortensen as aragorn. The actor has not yet committed nothing in anything, but the writer Philippa Boyens clearly indicated that it was in Viggo and that she would love to bring him back to play Aragorn (which is a central figure of the story on which the new film is based).

In addition to the story of Aragorn and Arwen is perfectly set up, Tolkien’s annexes have both Elrond and Galadriel at this stage in history. Galadriel is involved when Aragorn and Arwen are slipped into Lothlórien, while Elrond repeatedly pushes his head into action. And yet Hugo Weaving said he was Certainly not interested in returning as a roundWhile Cate Blanchett was recently recorded by saying She intends to give up playing. (We will see if it is the truth or not, especially with regard to his potential return as a galadriel.)
The absence of these two key figures would leave a hole in the intrigue – that which Arwen could help to fill. Remember, Arwen is the daughter of Elrond and Galadriel’s granddaughter. It would be possible to indirectly indicate the off -screen roles of Elrond and Galadriel through Arwen, even if Weaving and Blanchett are not available to resume their characters. From the desire to Tyler to the obvious overlap of the history and the connection point between Aragorn, Elrond and Galadriel, it is easy to argue that bringing Tyler to be a home run for this new adaptation. The question is: will it happen? With “The Hunt for Gollum” having already been pushed back to a release date at the end of 2027, there is a good chance that we will not yet get a solid response for a while.
