Samsung said on Wednesday that he adds Gemini Ai from Google to his Ballie home robot thanks to a partnership with Google Cloud. Users will be able to ask the robot different requests to obtain responses from Gemini, companies said.
Samsung aims to exploit Gemini’s multimodal capabilities for his robot. The Korean technology giant said that it would associate its own AI with Google to allow audio and video inputs for Ballie to answer different questions. For example, you can ask the bot: “What am I looking like?” And this will give usual suggestions using your camera and visual intelligence.
Ballie will also be able to use Gemini to give health -related recommendations – for example, exercise suggestions and means to improve sleep. Beyond that, you can ask the robot a range of general knowledge queries.
“Thanks to this partnership, Samsung and Google Cloud redefine the role of AI in the house,” said Yongjae Kim, executive vice-president of the visual display activity of Samsung, in a press release. “By joining the powerful multimodal reasoning of Gemini with the capacities of the AI of Samsung in Ballie, we take advantage of the power of open collaboration to unlock a new era of personalized AI companion – the one who moves with users, anticipates their needs and interact more dynamically and significantly.”
Samsung has shown different versions of Ballie during salons like these for years now. Earlier in 2025, the company said that the robot would finally reach consumers in South Korea and the United States in the first half of this year.
Samsung had already associated itself with Google to integrate Gemini with its Galaxy Series smartphones, starting with the Galaxy S24. Samsung and Google would also have worked on an XR device, and Gemini could end up being at the heart of this experience.
