President Donald Trump was one of those who thought that the victory of the masters of Rory McILroy on Sunday showed exactly what the legendary golfer was made when he was fighting through ups and downs throughout the Tour.
Addressing journalists on Air Force One, Trump congratulated McILroy, who became the sixth golfer to capture the coveted Grand Chelem, winning each major professional golf.
“I have to congratulate Rory,” said Trump when a journalist asked if he looked at the masters. “It took enormous courage. He had trouble, but it showed great guts, endurance and courage.

“People do not know how difficult it is. It has returned. It is better for him that it happened in this way because it showed real courage to come back from what could have been a tragedy – it was incredible.”
Trump described the masters as “maybe my favorite sports show” and that he likes to watch it every year when possible.
He also gave a cry to Justin Rose, the Englishman whom McILroy had to face in a sudden qualifying series after missing his putt by his 72nd tournament hole to win the victory.

Rose buried a deep stepped putt on hole 18 to move 11 sous and exerted pressure on McILroy, who stuck this same hole in the regulations.
“Justin Rose was great,” added Trump, a passionate golfer. “Listen, these are great athletes under enormous pressure. But unless you are a golfer, you don’t understand that the thick hundredth makes a difference between a big blow and a horrible blow.”

McILroy and Rose returned to the 18th Tee Box for the Subite Death qualifying series, which would have had a second hole on n ° 10 if necessary.
But the approach of McILroy pulled, which sank a slope on two feet, exerted pressure on pink to bury its opportunity for Birdie. After a long reading around the green, Rose put her best blow on it, but he went too far to the left. He finished with a peer and hoped that the hole 10 was where he would then go.
McILroy did not let him happen to that, while he was running the putt on the 18th this time and fell on his knees.
At that time, the weight of 11 years without major victory and finally collect the big career slam left him while he wrapped in tears.
