The Celtic Jota winger was excluded between six and nine months, confirmed the manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 26 -year -old – who returned to the Rennes club for 8 million pounds Sterling in January – was injured in the serious knee in the 5-0 victory last weekend at Dundee United.
It was removed during the first half at Tannadice Park while Celtic sealed a fourth consecutive title of Scottish Premiership and left the stadium on crutches.
“This is not great news for him and for us,” said Rodgers Sky Sports News.
“It didn’t seem so bad, but when he had the scan on his knee, it seems that he will probably be absent for six to nine months.
“He did his crossroads and a little other damage in there.
“It is quite optimistic and philosophical on this subject. He had a few years difficult after his distance from here in Arabia.
“It will give him a chance to come back even stronger.”
