The director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Jay Bhattacharya, recently announced on Fox News that the agency closed its latest internal Beagle laboratory on the NIH campus.
The announcement comes only a few days after the head of the Government Ministry (DOGE), Elon Musk, posted on X that he would investigate the funding of Beagle’s experiences.
A report from the White Coat Waste (WCW) project has detailed the history of the pumping laboratory, which is allegedly pumping bacteria pneumonia in more than 2,000 beagles lungs, bleeding and forcing them to a septic shock for deadly experiences.
Following the announcement, the president and founder of the WCW, Anthony Bellotti, congratulated President Donald Trump for having ended the very examined project.

“Taxpayers and owners of animals should not be forced to pay the abuse of the NIH Beagle,” said Bellotti in a statement. “We applaud the president for deleting these unnecessary expenses from the NIH and will continue to fight until we do all the dog laboratories in the country and abroad. The solution is simple: stop money. Stop madness!”

Shortly after the Trump administration took office, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced in April Eliminate an animal test Need antibody therapies and other drugs in favor of tests on materials that imitate human organs.

Peta pleads at the NIH to stop funding for animal study, calls for “cruel and horrible” sleep experience
During Trump’s first term in 2019, the administration closed the largest government cat laboratory.
Bhattacharya said people for the ethical animal treatment (PETA) contacted it after the Beagle test establishment closed, sending it flowers.

“Normally, I think the directors of NIH tend to get physical threats, but they sent me flowers,” Bhattacharya told the air.
Peta in 2021, underlined the alleged approval of Anthony Fauci of testing of tests in Tunisia where the Beagle puppies were drugged, and their heads were locked in cages filled with hung and infected shortbread.

After the publication of reports, 23 bipartite legislators, including representative Nancy Mace, Rs.C., sent a letter to Fauci concerning heartbreaking experiences.
“Yesterday, I sent a letter to Dr Fauci concerning cruel experiences and financed by taxpayers on puppies; landing before drowling and killing them,” wrote Mace in an article in October 2021 on X. “It’s disgusting. What do you say @nih.”
Kathy Guillermo, main vice-president of PETA’s laboratory surveys, told Fox News Digital on Sunday evening that the organization was “delighted” by the news of the closing of NIH facilities.
“We let the new Director of NIH know how important this step is for the modernization of science, and we are particularly happy because these last experiences implied a septicemia, which we have been working to end for several years. Experiments of septicemia on animals are failures.”
Guillermo noted that Peta has a trial in instance, filed under the Biden administration, in an attempt to prevent the government from financed other septicemia experiences.

The Indiana -based company which raised the Beagles for research, envo, pleaded guilty in 2024 for neglecting thousands of dogs in its reproduction center in Cumberland, Virginia, and will have to pay more than $ 35 million in fines, according to the American Veterinal Medical Association.
“We are just delighted to see that the [Envigo] Beagles that were used [at the NIH location]will no longer be used, “said Guillermo.” We first exposed [Envigo] In a secret survey which finally led to the closure of the installation and to the release of 4,000 beagles in good houses. “”

Peta is expecting information on the condition of dogs that will be released, and if they are in good shape to be placed in a house, Guillermo said they were ready to help.
“Dr. Bhattacharya has taken a good start, and there is much more work to do, because animals are experienced, including beagles and other dogs, across the country,” she said. “So we look forward to what comes next.”
