The White House draws the appointment of Dave Weldon for the director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Fox News Digital learned. Weldon must have had his confirmation audience on Thursday.
The Senate committee, education, work and pensions (aid) announced that it had canceled its hearing in a statement on Thursday morning. However, this has confirmed that legislators would still vote on Dr. Jay Bhattacharya’s appointments for the Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Dr Marty Makary for the Food and Drug Administration of the United States.
“It has become clear that the votes were not there in the Senate to be confirmed. It would have been a futile effort,” said a familiar source with the appointment to Fox News Digital.
Weldon, doctor and former member of the Florida Congress, made statements against vaccines in the past, which were to be mentioned during his audience. In a 2007 statement, Weldon said that there were “legitimate questions” about the potential ties between vaccines and neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood, such as autism.
In addition, during his stay at the Congress, he presented legislation with the former representative Carolyn Maloney, Dn.y., who would have prohibited the mercury of vaccines.
