The most widespread symptoms included an acute decrease in consciousness, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), metabolic acidosis (accumulation of lactic acid in blood circulation), pseudohypertriglyceridemia (highly high triglycerides) and hypokalaemia (low levels of potassium), according to results, BMJ newspapers.

Researchers have concluded that consumption of ice drinks containing glycerol can cause syndrome called into a glycerol.
The majority of children (95%) did not have continuous symptoms after avoided drinks.
What is glycerol?

The effect of a sudden illness after consuming a snowy drink had never been reported in the medical literature, noted Crushel.
This study had certain limits, recognized the researchers.
“The figures are small and include only the most sick children who have been brought to emergency services and who have been referred to specialists in hereditary metabolic disorders,” said Crushel.

“They were referred because their symptoms were similar to those of certain rare metabolic diseases. We do not know the extent of children who can develop softer symptoms.”
The other limitation is that the amount of glycerol ingested in the various drinks of melted snow is unknown, she added.
