Robot vacuums can make cleaning much more convenient but, depending on the layout of your home, they may not work with all floor plans. Chinese appliance maker Dreame hopes to solve this problem with its X50 robot vacuum cleaner, which can climb small stairs without assistance.
Although the robot vacuum has not yet launched in the United States, it is already being generated buzz thanks to a teaser posted on YouTube last year (the X50 is already available in China). Now, the $1,699 X50 is making its US debut at CES 2025, with Dreame offering a glimpse of its capabilities.

We saw it in action on the CES show floor and the X50 was indeed able to repeatedly go up and down a series of small steps. And, for those who might be worried about the mechanical “legs” breaking, Dreame claims the robot vacuum can hold up to about 30,000 “shares” on average.
In addition to its stair-climbing capabilities, the X50 can maneuver under furniture and identify up to 200 types of objects, helping it detect obstacles in its path. It also has a built-in hot water mop and a specialized brush for sweeping hair without tangling.
Dreame opens pre-orders for the X50 on January 7, with those who pre-order also getting a two-year extended warranty and an additional cleaning kit. The vacuum cleaner will officially go on sale on Amazon and the Dreame website on February 14.
