Everton are now seriously interested in signing an “incredible” new right-back who will be available on a free transfer this summer, according to a report.
Moyes looks to strengthen his squad this month
David Moyes took charge of Everton with the club in a precarious position in the Premier League table, but the timing of his appointment means he will be able to put his own stamp on the team by bringing in new players this this month.
Moyes’ first signing could soon be on the way, as the Toffees are close to completing a deal to sign Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah, with the 21-year-old just one step away from completing his transfer at Goodison Park.
Bringing in new attacking options could be a priority for the new boss, given he has already held talks with Dominic Calvert-Lewin over the striker’s lack of goals this season, adage: “We’re going to give him as much confidence as possible and as much training as possible, but there’s also a time when you need the players to stand up and do their part as well.
“I’ve only just arrived and hopefully I’ll make them work, but I told him I need to score him some goals straight away and he needs to start keeping his promises.”
