The Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the defender of Arsenal, Kieran Tierney, will join the club this summer after accepting a pre-contract.
The 27 -year -old is in the last six months of his Gunners contract and will return to Glasgow at the end of the season.
The Scottish international had been informed that he could leave the club in northern London by the boss of Arsenal Mikel Arteta.
Tierney missed the first three months of the season with a serious injury to the ischi-leg folded by playing for Scotland in Euro 2024 and has only made five appearances for the Gunners since his return to Fitness.
Rodgers, speaking before the draw of the Celtic Champions League against Aston Villa, also confirmed that the left back on the living room Alex Valle returned to Barcelona. Sky in Italy reports that he should join Serie a Side Como.
When asked if Valle’s departure could lead to a Tierney bow this month, Rodgers said: “Ideally, it would be [happen in January] But, at the moment, he is still an arsenal player.
“I think everyone is agreed that it will certainly take place in summer. If we can do it in advance, then great.”
On Valle, Rodgers added: “Alex will no longer play, unfortunately. He is in Barcelona for the moment and he will probably go to another team.
“He is another young player who contributed very well for us, played almost 20 appearances, played in very important matches, made his debut in the Champions League and, especially in Atalanta, he was fantastic.
“We are disappointed that it is left, but we have to move on.”
